William Frederick Winkelman, Sr.  April 11, 1935 ~ October 18, 2025

 

Preceded in death by parents Harvey and Margret Winkelman; brothers Leroy Huntley, Jack Winkelman, Iven Winkelman; granddaughter Sara Rose McGovern; and Alice Winkelman.

 

Survived by children Gale McGovern, William F. Winkelman, Jr., Dawn Pirnie, Leroy Winkelman, Jarrod Allord, Jodi Winkelman, and Jenna Mock; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

 

William was born April 11, 1935 to Harvey and Margret Winkelman. He joined the Army and married Alice before buying a farm and moving to Minnesota in 1955. Wild Bill was always the life of the party and he loved to go dancing. He was always willing to help anyone in need, giving great advice in round about ways. He was a great teacher and story teller. He was always looking for the next big adventure. Even up until his last days he was running around the farm with family and chasing the animals.

Services will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, October 25, 2025, with a visitation from 12:00PM - 1:00PM at Lakeview Community Church, 25538 370th Ave, Hillman, MN 56338. Military Honors will be provided at 2:00PM Luncheon to follow.
