Cordula Christina Watts

Oak Ridge, NC – Mrs. Cordula Christina Watts, 59, passed away peacefully after a two year battle with cancer on Saturday, 18 October 2025.   She was born on 27 November 1965 in Mainz, Germany to Wolfgang Wittenberg and the late Karola Beaury.

She is survived by her husband Charles Watts – married together for 41 years, her son Joshua, her daughter Tabitha, and her grand-daughter Olivia.  She is also survived by her three sisters, Doris, Rosie, and Uli as well as her father, Wolfgang Wittenberg.  

Cordula was a stay-at-home mother.   She was an active and serving member of New Hope Baptist Church in Walnut Cove, NC. She had an upbeat spirit that could lift anyone’s day and had a way of seeing light even when the skies were gray, and she always met life with that bright, unforgettable smile. Cordula faced challenges with grace and joy, including her two battles with cancer. One thing that could always be said about her during her last battle with cancer was that she never lost that smile.

The family would like to thank Cordula’s special friends, Renee Sorell, Brenda Sorell and Fatima Emaghorasian for all their help and kindness who were always there to help and look out for each other. Additionally we would like too express profound gratitude to Gary and Ceceilia for their caring touch.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, 28 October 2024, at 2:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church, 1520 Hinsdale Road, Walnut Cove, NC, with Pastor Travis Howard officiating.
