Ruby C. Elliott, 98, of Caldwell, died Monday, October 20, 2025, of natural causes. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 10:00 am at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, 624 Cleveland Blvd. in Caldwell, with Pastor Bill Sperry of Caldwell Christian Church to officiate. A graveside burial will immediately follow at Canyon Hill Cemetery in Caldwell.

Mrs. Elliott was born on April 19, 1927, in Rosston, Oklahoma, the daughter of Owen and Bertha Murray. She moved with her family to Homedale, Idaho in 1937, and graduated from Homedale High School in 1946. She married Clay Elliott on June 7, 1946, in Wilder, Idaho. They moved to Caldwell in 1947 and became permanent residents of this community. Ruby and Clay were married for 48 years before his death in August of 1994.

Ruby worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Caldwell for 30 years, retiring in April of 1989. She enjoyed her job with the USDA, especially interacting with and assisting local farmers.

Ruby was a member of the Dorcas Circle (Caldwell Professional Club), National Active and Retired Federal Employees Group, Caldwell Christian Church, and local pinnacle clubs.

Ruby was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her husband, family, and friends. She and Clay spent many summers camping throughout Idaho, and she especially loved large extended family camping events in Homedale and McCall.

Ruby is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law: Mike and Diane of Hagerman, Bart and Karla of Caldwell, and Jeff and Tina of Ravensdale, Washington; grandchildren: DeAnna, Jason, Shaun, Conner, and Camryn; great granddaughters, Aspen and Annyka; sister, Pat Nelson of Salt Lake; and several nieces and nephews.

Ruby was born into a large family and was one of eight siblings. Ruby was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas and Jim Murray, and sisters: Naomi Shumaker, Betty Metzer, Mary Turner, and Billie Dill.

Ruby's family suggests any memorials be given to the Idaho Youth Ranch, a cause that Ruby supported passionately over the years.
