Michael D Cohoon

Following a long 9-year battle with cancer, we announce the passing of Michael Cohoon on October 15, 2025, in Lacey, Washington. Michael always filled the lives of those he loved with excitement and laughter, and he will be dearly missed by friends and family alike. A service will be held in his honor on October 25, 2025, starting at noon at Mountain Greens MHP Clubhouse located at 5280 55th Lane SE, Lacey, WA.

Michael was born in Maywood, California, on January 15, 1955, to since passed parents, Monta Lou, and Harry Dale Cohoon. He grew up with his parents, brother Dean and 2 sisters, Virginia (Gini), and Sue, who all enjoyed family gatherings, holidays and trips to Disneyland and other exotic places. Michael loved all things Football and played linebacker at Royal Highschool in Simi Valley before graduating there in 1972. He moved to Northern California where he met the love of his life, Joyce Lambott in 1987. They were married on September 9, 1995, in Burns Flat, OK. Michael was a family man and loved children, Nicole Dempsey and Shana Rae Samora.

During his work career, he worked as an HVAC tech, a maintenance engineer at Doan’s Pet Care and a commercial truck driver Halliburton. Michael was an avid animal lover and opened his home to 3 Queensland Heelers and 2 Dachshunds. Along with his love of animals, Michael had a love for his favorite football teams, Oakland/Los Angeles/Los Vegas Raiders and the USC Trojans. Fight on!

Michael is proceeded in death by Brother Dean Cohoon as well as parents Monta Lou and Harry Dale Cohoon. Michael is survived by his wife Joyce Cohoon, daughters Nicole Dempsey and Shana Rae Samora, Sisters Virginia Costanzo, and Sue Schultz and his previous wife, Linda Niemas. He will also be missed by his 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and brothers-in-law, Bill and Tom.
