George Walter, age 87,of Venice, Florida passed away on October 19, 2025. He was born on February 18, 1938 in Syracuse, New York and moved to Venice in 1979 from Fairport, New York. George worked for Xerox Corp. until 1979 moving to Florida to join his brother-in-law in co-owning Gulf Breeze Landscaping in Englewood, Florida. He also served in the United States Air Force and Air National Guard in New York State.

He was a member of the Kiwanis, Elks, Moose, QB’s, Venice Yacht Club and drummer for the  Dixie Spirit Jazz Band. George enjoyed boating and flying his Cessna 182. He was a workaholic but always ready for a good time.

George is survived by his wife, Pat; two sons, Christopher and his wife, Carolyn, Sean and his wife, Spring; He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Hailee and Stone; three sisters, Beverly, Colette, Karen and her husband Ed and a brother, Dick and his wife, Jan. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank, his mother, Emma and his sister, Larona

A memorial gathering will be held at Farley Funeral Home in Venice on Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 1:00PM-2:00PM with the service to follow.  Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.  To send a condolence or memory please visit www.farleyfuneralhome.com.
