October 13th, 1940 - October 15th, 2025
In Loving Memory
Tom Crouch, 85, of Winnsboro, South Carolina, died in the home where he lived with his son, Timothy, in Illinois on Wednesday, October 15th, 2025. His memorial service will be held at Thompson Funeral Home in Lexington, SC, where the family will be welcoming visitors on November 3rd from 2-4 p.m.
He was born on October 13, 1940, to parents Eddie Thurman and Eva May Crouch in Winnsboro, SC and was 1 of 9 siblings. Tom lived a full and exciting life which included attending Mount Zion School as a child where he was a proud member of the boys’ choir, enlisting in the National Guard, Army, and later joining the Navy where he learned his best dance moves. He worked in carpentry, painting, and nuclear plants for most of his life before retiring. Tom’s hobbies were vast, but the most prominent were his love of hunting, gardening, and of course his love of fishing. He had many close friendships that were formed in a boat or on a dock and could teach even the most professional of fisherman a thing or two about which lure or bait to use.
Tom is survived by many family members and friends who love and will miss him dearly. His surviving siblings are Thurman Crouch, William Crouch, Judy Crouch Gauer, and Betty Crouch Stephens. His family also includes his ex-wife Violet Cook, their children which are 3 daughters and 1 son, many grandchildren and a great-grandchild. In their order of birth, his children are Eva Crouch, True Paulauskas, Timothy Summersgill (sons-in-law Thomas Summersgill & Kevin McCarty), and Dixie Crouch. His grandchildren in order of birth are Brenda Crouch, Charlotte Hutto, Jordin Hutto, Killian Paulauskas, Robbie Hughes Jr., Ryleigh Hughes, Gwendollynn Summersgill, Samuel Foster, and Avery Foster. His sole great-grandchild is Rhiannon Crouch.
In lieu of flowers, please share Tom’s love of nature by planting a tree.
