Ching Martinson

In Loving Memory of Ching Martinson:

Ching passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at her home on October 17, 2025 in her sleep, at the age of 63. Please join us in honoring and celebrating her life—she was taken from all of us far too soon.

Ching was full of life and laughter—always doing the things that kept her youthful: tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, going on daily walks around the park, connecting and shopping with friends, cooking and sharing delicious meals, spending quality time with her beloved granddaughter and daughter, and planning for retirement in AZ with her life partner. She loved her church, her God, and was strong in her Catholic faith. She took pride and joy in her work at the hospital caring for patients for over 25 years. 

Ching was born in the Philippines. She and her late husband and daughter settled in North St. Paul, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandparents and her older brother. She is survived by her loving family: her daughter (son-in-law), life partner, granddaughter, six brothers and three sisters in the Philippines and extended family both here in MN and the Philippines. She was an active part of a large and supportive network of Filipino friends and work family.

Ching was incredibly caring and generous—known for her giving spirit and warmth. She could start a conversation with any stranger and walk away knowing their life's story. If you were a friend, you were immediately considered family. Ching was deeply loved and will be missed by many loved ones. She was the second of eleven siblings and the one brave enough to move to the United States with her late husband and daughter.

Ching’s love and light will be forever missed, but never forgotten. We look forward to celebrating her beautiful life with you and sharing cherished memories.

A memorial service will be held at the Church of St. Peter: 2600 Margaret St N., North St. Paul, MN 55109.

Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. and a memorial mass at 11:00 am, on Thursday, October 30, 2025. A celebration of life to follow.
