Robert Ellery Benton, 88, passed away peacefully in Venice, FL on October 23, 2025. He was born in September of 1937, in New Britain, CT to Clarence and Dorothy (Brayton) Benton. Robert graduated from Guilford High School. Robert married his wife Doris (Tichy) Benton in 1959, residing in North Madison and Guilford, CT until they relocated to North Port, FL in 2001. Robert worked as a carpenter for much of his life including building their first home in North Madison, CT.

 He served in the US Air Force and later worked as a courier and in retail sales.   Robert enjoyed working on antique cars, hunting, fishing, golf, and casinos.

 Robert is predeceased in death by his wife Doris, of 63 years, parents Clarence and Dorothy Benton, brother Ernie Benton, and sister Judy Benton. He is survived by his son Robert Ellery Benton, Jr. and wife Connie of Allentown, PA, their daughter and son-in-law Natalie and Eric Reed and their four children of East Liverpool, Ohio.
