Larry Albert Sanford

Mr. Larry Albert Sanford, age 76, a resident of Polk City, Florida, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center surrounded by family. Mr. Sanford was born December 19, 1948, in Winter Haven, Florida to Albert and Lena Estelle (Harris) Sanford. He was a lifelong Polk County resident, graduated from Auburndale High School and was a retired long distance Truck Driver. Larry was a member of the Winter Haven Moose Lodge and a United States Army Veteran. He enjoyed fishing, drinking Pepsi, watching old Westerns on TV and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister – Judy Walker; brother in law – Robert Walker; 2 grandchildren – Devin & Nikki and 1 nephew – Shawn. Larry is survived by his loving family, wife of 33 years – Joyce Sanford; 4 sons – Larry Johnston, Lance (Michelle) Sanford, Joe Sanford & Eric (Robin) Taylor; 4 daughters – Patty Cherry, Cindy Sanford-Dean, Sherry (Howard) Osteen & Donna Whatley; brother – Carlton Franklin (Pat) Sanford; 22 grandchildren – Heather, Jordan, Micha, Damon, Joshua, Gwen, Bradlee, Dylin, Shelby, Laney, Ashley, Nicole, Krystal, Joey, Ricky, Decoven (Andie), Saige, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Joey, Brittany (Carson) & Jenaifer; 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. Funeral services will be held 11am Thursday, October 30th at Kersey Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10am at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will at Auburndale Memorial Park.
