Betty Lou (Watson) Bryant
November 22nd, 1934 - September 15th, 2025
Betty Lou (Watson) Bryant, born November 22, 1934, was ushered into the arms of Jesus on September 15, 2025. She was born in Gallatin, Missouri to Gertrude Aurelia (Ward) Watson and Uel Fenton Watson.
Betty married Donald Lee Bryant on March 14, 1952 in Longview, Washington, where they raised four children and lived for 24 years. In 1976, Don got the wild idea to follow the sunshine and moved the family to Minden, Nevada. They spent three years there, until Betty decided they needed to move back to Washington! They settled in Chehalis in 1979, where they spent the rest of their lives.
When the children were young, Betty sold Avon and did the bookkeeping for the family business. She sold real estate while they lived in Nevada and also after they moved to Chehalis. Betty went on to work for the Chehalis School District in Accounts Payable, where she met her good friend, Joanne Amrine. In later years Betty went back to selling Avon until she was almost eighty years old.
Betty lived a life of serving others, whether she was baking bread, pizza or cookies, or making crafts with all of the grandkids. Her last several years were brightened by knowing that at any minute her great grandsons, Kale and Hudson could show up at her back porch to see how she was doing, and maybe to find out if she had any ice cream or snacks (and she always did).
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Don, her parents, brother Billy Ward and sister, Ida Thompson.
Betty is survived by her four children: Michael (Judy) Bryant, Susan (Randy) Peck, Julie (Don) McLeod, all of Chehalis, WA and Scott (Kristin) Bryant of Bozeman, Montana; ten grandchildren: John (Erin) Cole, Erica (Tim) Samuel, Farrah (Claudia) Kalotay, Joshua (Katrina) Cole, Nathan (Leah) Jaber, Andrew (Becky) Cole, Daniel Bryant, Jason Jaber, Brendan (Kaila) Bryant and Grace Bryant; nine great grandchildren: Kale and Hudson Cole; Adeline, Axel, Audrey and Asa Zbinden-Cole; Reed Cole; Camille and Colette Bryant.
We will celebrate Mom’s life on her birthday, November 22nd from 2-4 at Josh and Katrina’s home.
