Donna Ruth Cardin went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on October 26, 2025. She was surrounded by her loved ones in her final week under hospice care.

Born in Montrose, Colorado, Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia "Gin" Josephine Hall and J.M. "Johnny" Minish. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 33 years, David Wayne Cardin.

She is survived by two children, Dale Potts and Andrea Hudson (Banks); five grandchildren whom she adored: Bekah Thompson (Cody), Landon Hudson (Samantha), Rylee Hudson, Maggie Hudson, and Kyle Potts; and two great-grandchildren, Maddox and Kaden Thompson. To them, she was their beloved "Ganny."

Raised in Crestwood, Kentucky, Donna attended Louisville College of Business after high school. She worked for Tinsley/Wilson Oldsmobile in accounting for more than 30 years, where she was known for her dedication, integrity, and kindness.

Donna was first and foremost a loving and selfless mother, always putting the needs of her children before her own. She worked tirelessly to provide for them as a single mother, setting a quiet example of strength and sacrifice.

Faith was the cornerstone of Donna's life. She joined Memorial United Methodist Church in 1977, where she became an active member and devoted servant leader. She served as Treasurer of the United Methodist Women and received the Outstanding Laywoman Award. She was a member of both the Bible Love Sunday School Class and the Miriam Women's Circle. Donna was also an integral part of the Emmaus Community for more than 30 years and served as Lay Director for Walk #76. She also volunteered her time with the church's Bereavement Committee for several years.

Donna lit up every room she entered with her gentle spirit and warm smile. Her subtle humor and quick wit brought comfort and laughter to those around her, even in her final days.

Though she will be deeply missed, her love and the memories she leaves behind will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her, until we meet again in Heaven.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Wesley Café at Memorial United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, on Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 2 to 5 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Memorial United Methodist Church, 631 North Miles Street, Elizabethtown, KY 42701.
