Betty Richburg

Betty Alsbrooks Richburg, 88, of Cayce, South Carolina, passed away on October 27, 2025. She was born on November 6, 1936, in Manning, South Carolina to Jacob and Lattie (Childers) Alsbrooks.

Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was known for her sense of humor, unconditional care for her son and always thinking of others. She loved gardening, sewing and family get togethers. She ran an in home daycare where she cared for many children over the years. She may no longer walk beside us, but her love surrounds us still in every memory that we hold near.

Betty is survived by her sister, Jeanette Matthews; her 2 daughters, Debbie Whetstone (Ronnie) and Cindy Strother (Tommy); 4 granddaughters, Misty, Tonya (Brian), Mandy (Robert) and Amy (Steven); 7 great grandchildren, Chance, Bailey, Jaden, Marley, Matthew, Andrew and Hannah; 3 great-great grandchildren, Weston, Kaison and Karson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry L. Richburg; son, Eric; her 6 siblings, Elease, Zuline, Vennie, Eddie, Naomi and Hazel; 2 great grandchildren, J.T. and Leland.

The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home on October 30th, 2025, from 1pm-2pm. Funeral services will follow at 2pm with Pastor Derrick Gardner officiating. Interment will be immediately followed at Celestial Memorial Gardens.
