Gpa (Jerry), died on October 27, 2025, in Surprise, Arizona, while battling lung cancer.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois to Jack & Dorthy Friedler. He grew up in New Haven, Connecticut where he worked in the food service industry. In the 1970s he relocated to Tucson, Arizona where he met his wife Mary Jane.
Gpa & GG followed their grandkids all over the Southwest, eventually settling with them in Surprise. Jerry dedicated much of his time to service through Kiwanis Aktion & Key Clubs. This was a true testament to his kind heart, giving spirit and loving nature!
He was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by: his wife, Mary Jane (Irving); his children, Ruth Ann Friedler & Michael Scott Friedler; step children, Marjorie Kane & Kathleen (Horacio) Honne; grandchildren, Joshua (Katie) Honne, Courtney (Kevin) Courson, & Bailey Honne; great grandchildren, Aria Honne, Maddox Courson & Calla Courson; siblings, Robert (Amy) Friedler & Marcia (Wayne) Wosczyna; his best friend since childhood, Tony (Kip) DeFazio; as well as many nieces and nephews he loved dearly.
