Carole Harvey Cowf Kiss, 81, a resident of The Villages since 2002, died peacefully on October 27,2025 at the Buffalo Crossing Healthcare Center following a series of medical challenges.
Carole began her nursing career after completing her studies at St. Luke’s School of Nursing in New York City. She was married to Ira Cowf from 1977 until his death is 1996. Overcoming many procedural impediments to international adoptions, Carol and Ira were blessed with two children from Brazil. Carole’s experience with her daughter’s hearing impairment led her to a new career leveraging her education, empathy and talent to become an Educational Sign Language Interpreter and Tutor for the Danbury, Connecticut’s Board of Education.
Carole was the beloved wife of Alex Kiss since 2001. Their wedding reception got things off to a hot start as a fire in the kitchen brought fire trucks from around the county as unexpected guests. Carole and Alex relocated to The Villages from Danbury, Connecticut, shortly after their marriage but never relinquished their close ties with friends and family up north. Carole was an early adopter of social media that allowed her to keep current with the activities and celebrate the achievements of those who meant so much to her.
Carole fully embraced life in The Villages and collected friends at every turn. Always active since her High School baton twirling days, Carole enjoyed long walks, Zumba, aerobic dance and water fitness for her own well-being. Her shining moments were the many social activities she organized, recruited and maintained wherever she went. She initiated golf groups, Ladies Lunches, weekly card games, group trips to entertainment events and field trips to area attractions. Carole’s great ideas, boundless energy and her caring spirit made everyone want to be part of her circle. To know Carole was to love her and she is already being missed by all.
In addition to her husband, Alex, Carole is survived by her son, Stephen Cowf (Kasey), her daughter, Candeia Rodriguez (Lenny), Chip Kiss (Lynne), Rick Kiss (Amanda) -Grandchildren Niesey Cruz, Gabriella Cowf, Alexa Cowf and Angelo Cowf, Alex Kiss, Ashley Kiss, Payton Kiss, Eric Kiss, Meagan Kiss and Abby Kiss, great granddaughter Natalya Whipple and dear brother Bruce Harvey (Judy).
Funeral services will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages, at 1 pm on Tuesday, November 4th.
