Santo Raymond "Sammy" Allen, 70, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on November 1, 2025, in St. George, South Carolina. Born on August 13, 1955, in Hartford, Connecticut. Santo lived a life marked by resilience, generosity, and deep devotion to those he loved. Throughout his life, Santo wore many hats—working as a bouncer, driver, and mechanic. But most of all a devoted and loving father. In each role, he brought a strong work ethic and an unwavering sense of responsibility. Whether keeping the peace at the door or getting engines running again, he was known for his reliability and no-nonsense approach. Santo was a man of many passions. He loved playing baseball and could often be found enjoying a game or reminiscing about his time on the field. You could always catch him watching sports on the tv. He loved the Boston Redsox and New York Giants. He had a unique fondness for collecting stuffed animals—not for himself but to give them to his children and grandchildren as tokens of love. His playful spirit shone through in these small but meaningful gestures. He also enjoyed playing pool and had a lifelong love affair with driving—whether it was for work or simply for the joy of being behind the wheel with music playing loud. His Marlboros were never far from reach, and music was always part of his world—a soundtrack to the life he lived fully and on his own terms. Those who knew Santo remember him as extremely strong-willed yet deeply kind—a man who would give the shirt off his back without hesitation. His perseverance was like none other. He loved fiercely and unconditionally. His presence was a source of strength to many: an amazing father, brother, uncle, and friend whose loyalty never wavered. He is lovingly remembered by his children Monique, Reanine, Andrea and Samuel; eleven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents Raymond and Mary Allen his brother Raymond Allen and sister Christine Coughlin and survived by siblings Sarah Woods (Bob), Annie Allen, Melissa Tracy and Wayne Allen and many nieces and nephews. His legacy lives on in their hearts and in the countless memories they shared with him. May Santo’s memory bring comfort to all who knew him and serve as a reminder of a life lived with strength, perseverance generosity, and love.
