Jim Brooks
February 27th, 1944 - October 28th, 2025
In Loving Memory
Jim Brooks fell asleep in death on October 28th, 2025. He was predeceased by his parents, Nancy and James Brooks. He is survived by his devoted wife Toy Brooks, his older brother Bobby Brooks, his younger brother David Brooks, his nephew Andrew Brooks, and many other beloved cousins and relatives.
James "Jim" Harold Brooks was born on February 27th, 1944, in Newport News, Virginia, to his parents, Nancy and James. His family moved to Asheville, North Carolina, when Jim was 1.5 years old. When he was 12, his family moved to Charlotte, where Jim grew up. After graduating from High School, he went on to the University of North Carolina and earned his Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Jim worked as an estimator at a steel company for 45 years.
Jim met Toy, his bride-to-be, in 1962. They began courtship in 1963 and were married on July 24th, 1965. They have been married for the past 60 years. Later, Jim and Toy moved to where the need was greater in Aiken, South Carolina, and eventually settled in Columbia in 1985, where they continued faithfully serving Jehovah God. Jim was an avid student of the Bible and enjoyed sharing that knowledge with others. Jim looked forward to the fulfillment of God's promise found at Revelation 21:3,4, which talks of tears, death, and pain being no more.
A Memorial Service for Jim Brooks will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3679 Leaphart Road, West Columbia, SC. The family invites all who knew Jim to join them on this occasion.
