Teresa “TK” Kay Powell Hamaker, 63, of Ladson, SC, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, family, and cherished memories. Born on September 30, 1962, in Carthage, TX, to Herman and Neoma Powell, Teresa grew up in Wilton, AR, where she developed a passion for the outdoors, arts, and family.

Teresa is predeceased by parents Herman and Neoma Powell; and brother Randy Powell. She is survived by her loved ones, including her husbands, James “Jimmy” Robert McMullan and George Edward Hamaker; her children, Amber Dawn Styles and Jeffrey Irvine Waaland; her grandchildren, Noah Edward Styles and Wesley David Conyers; her aunt Sarah Jo Glanville; her sister, Carol Powell Fawcett Freeman (Mike); her nieces, Jodi Fawcett (Marbie) and Nicole “Niki” Young (Clint); and other family members.

Teresa was known for her vibrant personality, creativity, cooking, and love for her grandsons and life. She enjoyed camping, boating, painting, and crafts, and her embroidery business brought joy to many. She has a magical effect on everyone and I wonder to this day how she did it all. Her family, friends, and even acquaintances were magnetically drawn to her warm spirit.

A celebration of Teresa's life will be held at Simplicity: Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services, located at 281 Treeland Dr, Ladson, SC 29456, on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to MUSC Children's Hospital, as per Teresa's wishes.
