Jack Ray Royce
February 16th, 1951 - October 27th, 2025
Jack Ray Royce, 74, of Mountain Home, Idaho passed away at home on October 27th, 2025.
Jack was born in Wendell, Idaho, February 16, 1951, to George Daniel “Dan” Royce and JoAnne Royce. Jack was raised on a farm where he spent his childhood working, as well as doing paint and drywall projects with his father in and around the Wendell area. Jack was a competitive child and pursued sports with such enthusiasm that all of his friends and siblings were also required to be involved. He graduated from Wendell High School in 1969 and was immediately drafted into the Armed Forces to participate in the Vietnam War. Returning to the states, after completing his tour of duty, he came back to Wendell. He started riding Harleys and travelling in the countryside with his friends before eventually making his way to Washington where he met his first wife Marilyn. They had two boys; Corey and Matthew. Jack continued to work in the Magic Valley area for a short time before his family moved to Boise in 1980. He continued to pursue some longstanding passions there, including raising/training horses, and coaching youth sports. Jack coached any sports that Corey and Matt participated in, including football, wrestling, and t-ball.
Jack met his second wife Faye, in 1990 while working in Boise. They combined their families and moved to Mountain Home before having their fifth child together. Jack and Faye started R&V Finishes Inc., in 1993, which would become a longstanding business in Mountain Home for almost 30 years. Jack and Faye retired in 2017, and spent Jack’s remaining years enjoying their grandchildren, reconnecting with old friends, and traveling around the West.
Jack was a youth sports coach throughout southern Idaho from 1982 to 2005. He was a perennial father figure and provided guidance to many kids and adults when they needed it most. He will be remembered as somebody who liked to laugh, enjoyed a good party (he was pretty good at drinking beer), and stayed quiet until he used one of his signature one-liners to tie up the ends of a joke. He will be missed and thought of lovingly by all of his family and friends.
Jack is survived by his wife Faye Royce. Sons, Corey, daughter (Jade). Matthew, children (Jesse, Abby). Oliver Granden, wife Jonica, children (Olivia, Harley). Heath Granden; Destry Royce, wife Taylor, children (Jasper, Aily). Brother, Bill Royce, wife Charlene. Sister, Sue Scott, husband Tracy; Brothers, Virgil and Fred Royce. Jack was preceded in death by both of his parents, and his sister, Hazel Jean Lopez.

Rost Funeral Home
As the only funeral home in Elmore County, the staff at Rost Funeral Home work hard to be active members of the Mountain Home community and to be there to take care of families in every way possible when the need arises. Our funeral home opened in 2005 when Jerry and Janette Rost purchased the business. We’ve continued to grow along with Mountain Home. Jerry’s career began more than fifty years ago in Boise, and along the way, he acquired an 1897 horse-drawn funeral carriage, which we proudly display in our facility....
