James "Jake" Jacobson of Venice, FL passed away peacefully at his home on October 10, 2025.

Born to Ervin and Edna Jacobson on July 18, 1932 in Neenah, Wisconsin.

James married Anna Mae Ferk on October 2, 1954 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth, Wisconsin.

James earned an undergraduate degree from Ripon College and a Master's degree from Indiana University. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956, stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged as Lieutenant in 1956.

James was a lifelong sportsman, lettering in three sports at Ripon College (football, basketball, and tennis) as well as playing semi-pro baseball and coaching numerous youth sports teams. James was an avid tennis player in retirement in Venice, Florida.

James had a distinguished career in the papermill industry. Notably, the manager of several Hammermill plants. He was named the Vice President of Fox River Paper Company before retiring to Venice, Fl in 2000. He was highly regarded by all those he worked with and he took special interest in mentorship and supporting plant workers.

James and Anna lived in Germany, Alabama, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida.

James is survived by his son, James J. Jacobson, Jr. (Waukesha WI), grandsons, John R. Jacobson (Mequon WI), Brian J. Jacobson (Milwaukee WI), Eric Winiarski (Beech Creek PA), and Nicholas Albright (Mill Hall PA). Granddaughters Ashley Winiarski Baxter (Melbourne FL), Sarah Albright (Fort Collins CO), and Elizabeth Albright (Lock Haven PA).

James was preceded in death by his wife Anna M. Jacobson, daughter Jennifer A. Albright, son Robert P. Jacobson, granddaughter Katherine A. Jacobson, Father Erwin Jacobson, Mother Edna Jacobson, brother Robert Roy Jacobson, and sister Lorraine Lockhardt.

Services to be held on November 14 at St. John the Baptist Church in Plymouth, WI. Visitation from 11am - 12pm. Followed by Mass.
