On the morning of November 1, 2025 Nola Knackert passed away at her home peacefully surrounded by her loved ones…

  Nola Jean Egbert was born October 30, 1960 in Caldwell, Idaho to Melvin and Eula Egbert. Nola attended school in Caldwell and graduated in 1979 from Vallivue high school. Nola then met the love of her life David Knackert in 1979. Nola and David were then married on June 14, 1980 in Caldwell, Idaho. They resided in Caldwell where they welcomed their first daughter Melissa Ann on June 9,1981. David and Nola then moved to Boise, Idaho. On June 2, 1989 they were blessed with their second daughter Nicole Jean. In 1992 Nola was working with the Department of Environmental Quality from 1992-1998. After that Nola worked at Walmart and then went on the road with her husband. Nola also went thru the driving school and obtained her CDL and went on the road with her husband for a few years.    Nola enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her grandkids were the apple of her eye. Nola is survived by her husband David Knackert, her two daughters Melissa Amerson, and Nicole McClaine and their husbands Derek Amerson and Nick McClaine, and her 6 grand kids Jayson Amerson, Bianca McClaine, Maya McClaine, Brayton Amerson, Olivia McClaine, and Mason McClaine.

As the only funeral home in Elmore County, the staff at Rost Funeral Home work hard to be active members of the Mountain Home community and to be there to take care of families in every way possible when the need arises. Our funeral home opened in 2005 when Jerry and Janette Rost purchased the business. We’ve continued to grow along with Mountain Home. Jerry’s career began more than fifty years ago in Boise, and along the way, he acquired an 1897 horse-drawn funeral carriage, which we proudly display in our facility....
