Wallace “Wally” Clinton Warila Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, experienced his last high desert sunrise on November 1, 2025, in Mountain Home, Idaho, at the age of 85.
Born on July 22, 1940, in Longview, Washington to Walter and Rachel Warila, Wally grew up alongside his brothers Robert and Richard, forming the foundation of a life rooted in family and hard work.
In 1957, Wally married the love of his life, Jacqueline “Jackie” Warila, and together they parented a beautiful family of six children: Dean Warila (deceased), Nicholas Warila (Gretchen), Diane Pangburn (Dan), Wallace Warila Jr. (Kim), Laurie Ceccarelli (Chuck), and Erik Jon Warila (Ellen). Wally was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him pride and joy.
Wally dedicated over six decades to the service station business, earning the respect of his family and friends through his work ethic. He also owned and operated a towing and hauling business for 15 years, embodying the spirit of entrepreneurship and perseverance.
A true American at heart, Wally admired icons like John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Nolan Ryan, Ted Williams, John Stockton, Ronald Reagan, and James Arness. His favorite musicians included Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Jr., George Straight, George Jones, and Merle Haggard. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—putting together puzzles, reading Larry McMurtry novels, playing golf, solving a game of solitaire, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and cheering on his beloved Boise State Broncos.
A memorial service honoring Wally’s life will be held at Rost Funeral Home in Mountain Home on Thursday, November 6, at 1 p.m. His legacy of love and loyalty will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Rost Funeral Home
As the only funeral home in Elmore County, the staff at Rost Funeral Home work hard to be active members of the Mountain Home community and to be there to take care of families in every way possible when the need arises. Our funeral home opened in 2005 when Jerry and Janette Rost purchased the business. We’ve continued to grow along with Mountain Home. Jerry’s career began more than fifty years ago in Boise, and along the way, he acquired an 1897 horse-drawn funeral carriage, which we proudly display in our facility....
