Diane Irma McDonald
June 18th, 1945 - October 31st, 2025
In Loving Memory of
Diane Irma McDonald, nee Steinbrecher, 80, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away peacefully on Oct. 28, 2025. She is survived by her sons Kenneth and William McDonald, and three grandchildren, Cara, Kyle, and Beau.
Born on June 18, 1945, in Babylon, New York, Diane’s family moved to Melbourne in 1953, and she remained a Melbourne resident for the rest of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, father Joseph Steinbrecher, her mother Florence, and brothers Joseph and Dennis.
After a 35-year career as an electronics assembly technician, Diane volunteered for Angels in the Attic thrift store in Melbourne, which fit her perfectly as an avid thrift store shopper. Anytime a family member or friend needed a particular item, they would simply ask Diane and she would make it her mission to find it at a thrift store, with astonishing results.
Diane loved her family and friends, and all have fond memories of her with her camera at family gatherings. She was exceptional at crafts, particularly sewing, and donated hundreds of homemade COVID masks during the pandemic. Her Easter parties and blue crab feasts were legendary. She made everyone feel at home.
The family would like to acknowledge St. Francis Hospice Lifestage Care for the care Diane received while at the end of her journey on this earth.
