Celebrating the Life of a Loving Mother, Friend, and Community Member

Patricia A. Knode (1941–2025)

Patricia A. Knode, age 84, of Greeley, Colorado, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, at UC Health Greeley Hospital. Patricia was born on February 28, 1941, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Leola Hedrick (McFadden) and Howard Glaspie, but was lovingly raised by her mother and stepfather, Samuel Hedrick.

A Life Journey Across States

Patricia’s journey began in Iowa, where she married Richard McGinley. The couple moved to Minnesota before returning to Iowa, living in Waterloo, La Porte City, and Cedar Falls. In 1973, Patricia started a new chapter in Greeley, Colorado, with her second husband, Ronald Kendall. Later, she moved to Oak Harbor, Washington, and eventually returned to Greeley, Colorado, which remained her home until her passing.

Education and Career

After earning her associate’s degree in accounting, Patricia took on various roles that brought her joy and fulfillment. She worked as a librarian and as an account manager in the flooring industry, both positions that allowed her to showcase her dedication, organizational skills, and passion for helping others.

Love of Travel and Adventure

Patricia found great happiness in traveling. Some of her favorite destinations were the Salt Lakes in Utah, Hershey, Pennsylvania, Orlando Florida, New Orleans Louisiana, the Amana Colonies in Iowa, and Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico. Each trip reflected her adventurous spirit and curiosity about the world.

Community and Family

While living in Washington, Patricia was active in the Navy Wives Club as mother, finding camaraderie and support among its members. Above all, Patricia was a woman who was cherished by everyone she met. Her friendly nature, big heart, and willingness to help others left a profound impact on those around her.

Patricia was a woman strong in her faith being a devout follower of Christ. She was deeply family-oriented, always striving to support her loved ones through every challenge and triumph. Her generosity, kindness, and encouragement truly made the world a better place for her family, friends, and community.
