John W Callaghan, Jr., 62, of Woodbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, November 14, 2025.
He was a loving husband to Ruthann; father to Christina, Erin (Justin), John III "Jake", and Ethan; son to Marie; and brother to Kathleen (Jerry), Christopher and Paul. John is also survived by his nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends.
He is predeceased by his father John W. Sr., and his brother Steven.
John was born in Camden, NJ and was raised in Westville. He married his high school sweetheart and together, they settled and raised their family in Erial, NJ. In 2017, they moved to Woodbury to be closer to family.
A beacon of light to many, John had a sense of humor that was unmatched and his smile would light up the room. Perseverance got John through many trials and tribulations throughout his life. He was a CAD Operator for Secor and General Dynamics for many years. John enjoyed fishing, spending time with family making others laugh.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 3pm-7pm at the McGuinness Funeral Home, located at 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ. Funeral Services will be held for John at 7:00PM at the funeral home.
Cremation services will be held privately.
