Brian John Golbach, age 73, passed away on November 14, 2025, in
Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.
Born on August 27, 1952, Brian grew up on the east side of Madison and
graduated from LaFollette High School. He later served on the University of
Wisconsin Police Department before spending more than two decades in the
fidelity and bond business. He approached every chapter of his life with
integrity, quiet humor, and an unwavering dedication to the people he loved.
Brian was a craftsman at heart. He found joy in building things—bunk beds, a
garden shed, a backyard playhouse—and in transforming ordinary moments
into magic for his daughters. Whether he was climbing onto the roof to mimic
reindeer on Christmas Eve or turning the garage into a dance studio, he created
a childhood full of imagination, laughter, and love.
He adored a Saturday morning drive, a long road trip, and any excuse to be
outdoors. Camping, working with his hands, and simply being in nature were
his happiest places. Above all, Brian’s greatest pride and purpose were his
girls, and later in life, his grandchildren. His joy was never more evident than
when he was cheering them on, helping them, or watching the families they
built grow.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Maxine Golbach . He is
survived by his siblings; his wife, Carolyn Golbach; daughters Brittney
Krueger (and husband Caleb) and Courtney Williams (and husband Jack);
grandchildren Rory and Harriet Krueger, and Margot, Palmer, and Thomas
Williams.
He was deeply proud of his daughters and the lives they’ve created, and he
cherished every moment spent as “Grandpa.” His kindness, generosity, and
joyful spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 20th at the Oakland-Cambridge Presbyterian Church at 2:00 p.m. in Cambridge, Wisconsin.
