In Loving Memory of Diana Maria Stringer(Nan) September 16, 1951 – November 7, 2025 Passed away surrounded by love and family. Diana Maria Stringer, originally from Detroit, Michigan, passed away surrounded by love and family. After moving to the South with her family, Diana continued to explore new places, always embracing life with joy and spontaneity. She often reminisced about the first time she put her feet in the California sand and learned to surf as a teenager—a moment that captured her free spirit and love for the ocean. Diana’s heart beat to the rhythm of music and laughter. She adored a good house party, where stories flowed and songs filled the air. Her second passion was cooking for family and friends. She was famous for her homemade chocolate chip cookies and her unforgettable Sunday dinners, where a big pot of Italian spaghetti with extra-large meatballs brought everyone together around the table. After meeting her first husband, Gerrald “Jerry” Campbell, Diana settled on Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina, where they raised their two daughters, Amelia Campbell Tompkins and Dannielle C. Clement. Diana’s life was rooted in devotion—to her family, her community, and the quiet joys of home. She was predeceased by her parents, Amelia Babin and Jerald Stringer, and her beloved brother, Ronald “Ronnie” Stringer. Her memory lives on through her sister, Annette Moore; her daughters, Amelia Campbell Tompkins (Michael Daniel Tompkins) and Dannielle C. Clement (Philip Melanchthon Clement); her cherished grandchildren: Preston Hunter Bearden (Amy Hyams Bearden), Kevin Claude Bearden Jr. (Tiffany Bearden), Collin Ray McCoin, Ethan Scott McCoin, Kirsten Maire McCoin, Morgan Leigh Clement, and Hunter Philip Clement; and her great-grandchild, Stella Bearden. Diana will be remembered for her strength, her warmth, and the deep love she held for her family. She also shared a special bond with her best friend and feline companion, Felix the cat, whose loyal presence brought her comfort and joy in her later years
