It is with great love and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our precious aunt Felipa (Villegas) Sanchez of Salinas, CA. Felipa passed away Monday, November 17, 2025, at the age of 89. She was born on May 1, 1936, in Mexicali, B. C. Mexico to the late Jacinto Villegas and Secundina Felix. She was a long-time resident of Salinas, California.
Felipa was a devoted wife to the late Filomeno Sánchez, aunt, and friend to many people. She is survived by two sisters-in-law Guadalupe Preciado and Chayo Sanchez. Her gentle spirit, kindness, positive attitude, and religious faith touched those who knew her.
She worked for more than 30 years for Spiegel’s Packing which later became Simplot. Upon retiring from Simplot, she worked for 28 years with the Alisal School District as a campus supervisor. Throughout her time with the school district, Felipa demonstrated her love for children and supportiveness to teachers. Her incredible energy allowed her to work up to the age of 85. Her work ethics are described by words of dedication, commitment, and diligence.
Felipa enjoyed having lunch with friends, shopping, watching Novelas, completing word searches, and attending her house. But most of all, she was always willing and ready to travel. She enjoyed going to Mexicali, Reno, Lake Tahoe, Arizona, New México and Las Vegas. Going to casinos was her favorite pass-time.
As a special thanks, we would like to honor Pacific Coast Acute Care for their care and attentiveness to our aunt. Also, an extended gratitude to her good friends Magdalena Moncada, Teresa Garcia (and family), Helen Bustos, Robert and Nancy Asunción for their time and effort in protecting her and keeping her safe.
Our Tía Felipa will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her unconditional love and faith. May her beautiful soul rest in eternal peace.
Services will be held at Healey’s Mortuary 405 North San Born, Rd. on December 3 at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories 850 Abbott Street, Salinas, CA.

We Entrusted Felipa Sanchez's Care To
Healey Mortuary
At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
