In Loving Memory of Graciela Tapia Logan
Loading
Graciela Tapia Logan passed away, going home to the Lord on November 18, 2025, surrounded by the loving prayers and presence of her family in her home in Green Valley, Arizona.
Grace was born and raised in Douglas, Arizona, to Benjamin Tapia and Encarnación Herrera Tapia. She was shaped by strong values, deep faith, and a strong sense of family closeness. She learned early what it meant to love generously and live with resilience. She now rejoins her parents, her siblings Benjamin, Manuel, Efraín, and Francisca (López), and her beloved husband John D. Logan, who all preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sister Estela (Varney); her children Jose de Lucas and Lori de Lucas Tapia (Martin Tapia); her treasured grandchildren Joey Tapia, Alex Tapia, Kassandra Tapia, Christopher Patiño, and Joey de Lucas; as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who carry her memory in their hearts, and to whom she was known lovingly as “Tia Chela”, “Nana Chela” and Nana Chula”.
For more than fifty years, Grace worked as a licensed optician, a profession she not only mastered but loved. She helped countless people see more clearly, and her own bright smile often became the clearest thing they remembered. She loved cooking meals that brought people together, exploring family heritage and traveling, and surrounding herself with the colors and culture of the Southwest she held dear. She was a volunteer with Friends in Deed in Green Valley and a lover of Game Shows. Her faith was steady and sincere, and she was a member of San Martin de Porres Church in Sahuarita, Arizona.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Brings Broadway Chapel in Tucson, Arizona. A private family interment will take place on December 20th in Douglas, Arizona, the place where she longed to rest.
