April Leigh Varner (Carter), age 72, passed away in her sleep at home on November 16, 2025. She was born on March 29, 1953, in Toledo, Ohio, and had lived in Florida since 1974.
April was the daughter of Charles and June Carter. She married Thomas (Tom) Varner in 1977.
She is survived by her husband, Tom; her siblings Robin, Lawrence, and Armadale; her children Jason (Judy), Kristina (Larry), and Jennifer (Dineshwar); her grandchildren Tesla (Anthony), Jason Jr., Collin, Ella, and Rabina; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and June Carter; her brother, Ricky; and her son, Jeremy.
A small graveside service will take place at Charlotte Memorial Cemetery on November 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
