Les Lawrence, 70, of Monroe, passed away peacefully at his home on November 22, 2025, after a courageous 12-year battle with cancer. Born on February 22, 1955, Les was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend who lived a life rooted in hard work, loyalty, and simple joys.
Les dedicated 52 1/2 years of service to States Industries, where he was admired for his dedication and expertise. A true countryman, he took great pride in caring for his home and land. He enjoyed antiques, loved his dogs, and the peace of rural living.
Throughout Les’ life, he loved camping, family vacations, fast cars, and time spent outdoors. He also enjoyed shooting and treasured the craftsmanship of the antique pieces he collected.
Les was known for his smooth, easygoing voice, his impressive handyman skills, and his perfectionism—traits that showed up in everything he touched, whether he was fixing something around the house or completing a project at work.
Les was preceded in death by his wife, Thrisa Lawrence, who passed in 2013. He is survived by his daughters, Angie and Summer, his sisters Trudy and Patty and brother, Jack Lawrence. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, charm, and unconditional love for those he held dear.
