Amy Maureen Slife, age 58, passed away Monday morning, November 24, 2025, at her residence. She was born August 7, 1967, in Leon, Iowa, a daughter of the late Leo Nathan and Phyllis Maureen Slife. Amy is survived by her Boyfriend, Don M. Brown, four brothers and sisters-in-law and one sister, Brent and Karen Slife, Curtis and Vickie Slife, David and Terry Slife, Julie Marie Slife, Russell and Ruth Slife; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her. Amy's hometown was Princeton and then Kirksville, MO, moved to Texas for Baylor University, moved to Hawaii for a Career in the Mortgage Industry, moved to Michigan as a Flight Attendant for Northwest Airlines then moved to Tempe, AZ to go back to the Mortgage Industry then lastly to Peoria, AZ. Amy's very successful career history includes being a Flight Attendant for Northwest Airlines and a VA, LAPP, DE, USDA, Jumbo and Conventional Mortgage Underwriter in Hawaii and Arizona, her history of education includes Baylor University and Scottsdale Culinary Institute of which she was named to the President's List. -
--------------- Don M. Brown (Boyfriend) statement.... Although named Amy at birth, sometime after 1997 Amy became affectionately known to me as Bubba because of the friendship we developed soon after we met while working as crew members for Northwest Airlines. Amy's passion for cooking, travel and football (which she acquired from growing up with four brothers) were just a few of the things that cemented our bond for the next 27 plus years. Amy was full of love and kindness and anyone she befriended was blessed to have her in their corner. Not afraid to take on life challenges, Amy's fortitude was an inspiration to those who knew her and she will be missed. However, she will forever remain in the hearts of those fortunate to have been a part of her life's journey.
-------------------Shari Smith (friend) statement... Amy loved using her culinary skills and really enjoyed having dinner party’s or other get-togethers for her friends. She was always the one to spend weeks cooking during the month of December so that she could give gift bags of treats to all of her friends during the Christmas holidays. She loved being there for others and always made everyone feel special. She was always the best team player at work and was always the person that helped motivate others to do a great job too. Everyone was her friend.
---------------------Julie Marie Slife statement... Amy loved experiencing diverse cultures and new places with a sense of curiosity and adaptability. She was able to become a world traveler as a Flight Attendant and took advantage of that opportunity as often as she was scheduled and/or able. After 9/11 she was a part of a team of other Flight Attendants, active or retired, to make a quilt that memorialized all the Pilots and Flight Attendants lost that day. "Remembering Our Heroes United Airlines Flight 175 Memorial Quilt. Collection 9/11 Memorial Museum, Gift of the Association of Flight Attendants" Amy loved watching and talking about NFL Football and Fantasy especially her favorite team the Cowboys. She also loved and was great at cooking and baking all kinds of a variety of foods from a variety of origins. It was her passion and her way of sharing her love for others. She loved feeding everyone and it didn't matter if it was a group or the individual when she cooked/baked for you she put her heart and soul into it.
---------------------- Amy has requested that there will be no funeral or memorial service. She wanted to be cremated and have Don M. Brown take her to Hawaii to scatter her ashes on a mountain that overlooks the ocean which is where she has lots of fond memories.
