Today God called our mom back home. He lent her to us for 97 years, and though it hurts, we know that her mission here on earth was fulfilled. To all her children, “Ama” showed us love and affection without reservation. To everyone who knew her, she offered kindness and compassion. It’s true that mom lived a hard life, marked by poverty, suffering, and pain. Yet she would tell us that even in the midst of hardship, she sought happiness. I enjoyed telling her jokes every time I visited her, just so that I could hear her unforgettable laugh. That’s why my best memories are of her boisterous laughter… so I cherished every single memory as I knew that this moment would one day come.
Mom had 11 children, and each of us holds personal memories so rich that we could write a whole book of our stories. She always told us: “My Children, please don’t hold grudges or anger among yourselves, because we never know when our end will come.”
Mom, like you always used to say, “today is not goodbye… it’s simply ‘see you later’.”
Today we honor her life, her legacy, and her eternal love. May she rest in peace.
