John "Jack" Andrew Walsh passed away on November 27, 2025, at the age of 87 in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, he was the son of Philip and Mary (Leddy) Walsh. Jack lived a full and vibrant life marked by faith, loyalty, and a unique sense of humor.
Jack was a proud graduate of La Salle Academy, Class of 1956, and later earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Providence College in 1968. His early career began at Ciba-Geigy in Cranston, RI, where he worked during the 1960s and 1970s. He continued his career at Victor Corporation, West Warwick, RI, throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
As a family man, Jack was devoted to his loved ones. He is survived by his loving daughters, Kathy Lamothe, her husband Steve, and Kristen Corey (former husband Tom). His legacy also lives on through his treasured grandchildren: Dan Lamothe and his wife Brooke, Andy Lamothe, Ryan Lamothe, Kelly Corey, and Tommy Corey. He is preceded in death by his cherished first wife, Donna (Kane) Walsh, and his beloved second wife, Marie (DeMizio) Walsh. Jack is also survived by his sisters, Pat Charpentier and her husband Ed, and Mary Florio and her husband Jerry, along with numerous friends and extended family members.
A man of deep faith and strong convictions, Jack had a remarkable ability to forge lasting friendships. He was known for his humor and loyal nature, qualities that endeared him to many throughout his life. After retiring, he embraced the sunshine of Stuart, Florida, where he enjoyed golfing, watching the Atlanta Braves, and traveling throughout the United States, proudly visiting 48 of our 50 beautiful states. His passion for road trips often led him to meeting friends for lunch, sharing stories and laughter for decades.
Jack later found a welcoming community at The Cypress of Hilton Head, where he created new friendships that brought joy and companionship in his later years. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on December 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church, located at 45 Beach City Road, Hilton Head Island, SC. A Rite of Committal and Celebration of Life will be arranged in Rhode Island at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Jack's memory to The Pockets Full of Sunshine, PO Box 4718, Hilton Head Island, SC 29938, or via their website at Pockets Full of Sunshine.org/donate
