Evaristo “Tito” Sandoval, beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on November 27, 2025.
Tito was born on July 16, 1932, in San Miguel, New Mexico, to Rosendo Sandoval and Rosarito Aragon. On September 25, 1957, he married the love of his life, Susie Abeyta, and together they built a beautiful family. Tito was the proud father of five daughters: Isabel “Chavela” Sandoval, Dora Gonzales, Sandra Aragon, Carol Sandoval, and Hope Sandoval, and he lovingly raised Marcus Silva like his own son. His family grew to include 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Tina Gallegos, Becky Gonzales, Flor Valdez, and Vallie Gonzales, and brothers Arturo Sandoval and Roy Sandoval, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Tito worked for the City of Albuquerque for 30 years before retiring. He had a passion for music, collecting and repairing guitars and violins, and he loved playing the guitar. He often said the casino was his therapy, and he enjoyed dancing and spending time with his family every chance he had. Tito was known for his jokes and stories—especially the one about how he met Susie. He had a heart of gold and was always there for his loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and cherished memories.
Tito was preceded in death by his parents, Rosendo Sandoval and Rosarito Aragon; his brother Celedonio Sandoval; his wife Susie Abeyta; daughters Dora Gonzales and Hope Sandoval; and grandchildren Steven Sandoval and Estrella Sandoval.
Tito will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His laughter, music, and stories will live on in the hearts of his family forever.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at San Miguel Del Vado Church, Sagebrush Way, Ribera, NM 87560 (Exit 323 Villanueva).
