TAMPA, FLORIDA — Sheila Margaret Rising Hall, 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep while receiving medical care in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Sheila Rising was born in 1934 and grew up in Islington, England. In the late 1950s, she came to the United States to work as a nanny and in due course she settled in Tampa, Florida.
Sheila was hardworking and determined, earning degrees in accounting and finance. She worked for the former Phosphate Rock Company for many years and eventually retired after working for the State of Florida.
Adamant about her privacy and independence, Sheila’s daily passions included taking care of her house and yard, the love for her dogs in addition to visiting with a friendly network of neighbors while taking long walks.
She is survived by her children: daughter Kim Hall-Holzer (husband Mark) of Stanford, MT; son Christopher Hall (wife Terri) of Plant City, FL; daughter Theresa Stokely of Richmond, VA; and son Michael Hall of Grasonville, MD; as well as seven grandchildren.
Her children extend their thanks to all who assisted her in her later years, including Meals on Wheels and the Abbey Rehabilitation Nursing Center, for their care, kindness, and support.
At Sheila’s request, cremation has taken place and no memorial service is planned.
Arrangements are under the care of A Life Tribute Funeral Home, Largo, Florida.
