James “Jim” Zuelsdorf, father, grandfather, friend, and proud United States Air Force Veteran, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025.
Born with an innate curiosity and a gentle spirit, Jim devoted his life to service, learning, and quiet joys. His years in the United States Air Force shaped him deeply, instilling in him a sense of duty, discipline, and patriotism that he carried throughout his life.
He loved to be surrounded by nature, in the mountains of Colorado where he married his sweetheart, Alice, or at home in the Oakland countryside. He was born to ride, his bikes providing a connection to both the outdoors and his innate sense of adventure.
Jim was an avid reader with a particular love for science fiction. He found comfort and adventure in the imaginative worlds of his favorite authors. His passion for stories was something he passed on to those around him.
A dedicated coin collector, Jim delighted in the history, artistry, and quiet thrill of each new addition to his collection. His carefully curated collection became a testament not only to his patience and knowledge but to his appreciation for life’s unique details.
Jim is survived by his children Dale and Bonnie and their families, his Mink Farm family, and devoted friends who will cherish his memory and carry forward the lessons he taught through his quiet strength.
A visitation will be held on December 11, 2025, from 1-3 pm with military honors to follow at Nitardy Funeral Home, Cambridge and a gathering afterward at Mink Farm Tavern, Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Jefferson County Humane Society in Jim’s honor.
Jim’s journey through life was marked by service, curiosity, and heart—and his memory will continue to shine warmly in all who knew him
