Surrounded by the love of his family, Trinidad Martinez—a devoted husband, cherished father, and proud grandfather—peacefully left this world on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 97 years old. He was born in Gerber, California on October 14, 1928. At the age of 2, his father moved their family back to Ameca, Jalisco in Mexico. At 18 years old, he left his family in Mexico to work in the United States. In 1956, he met his wife, Irene, in Alturas, California, with whom he shared a beautiful life with. Trinidad and Irene, settled in Rocklin, California.

Trinidad is preceded in death by his father, Pedro Martinez, Mother, Concha Ramos, and daughter, Teresa Elena Martinez. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Irene Martinez, his children, Ralph [Linda] Martinez, Salvador [Terri] Martinez, Sofia [Michael] Alden, Teresa Stephanie [Michael] Mendoza, and Michael [Claire] Martinez. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Mathew Alden, Allyson Alden, Monica Martinez, Micaela Trefry, Vanessa Mendoza, Marissa Mendoza, Andrew Martinez, and Alex Martinez.

He was a man defined by hard work, quiet strength, and devoted to his family. His family was the center of his life, and both Trinidad and Irene instilled in their children the strong values that continue to live on in their grandchildren.

After returning to the United States, Trinidad worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad in Alturas, California, and later at a lumber mill in Auburn, California, before beginning a long and rewarding career as a truck driver—a profession he dedicated himself to for 35 years. He worked tirelessly to ensure his family had every opportunity to succeed. Through his sacrifices and determination, his children were able to build happy, fulfilling lives – something he took great pride in. Even after retiring at the age of 74, his work ethic and resilience remained an inspiration to everyone who knew him.

Beyond his dedication to family and work, he had a joyful, playful spirit. A true outdoorsman, he found joy in deer hunting, camping, and fishing, and was never happier than when he was surrounded by beautiful trees, peaceful lakes, and the quiet comfort of nature. He loved listening to mariachi music with his wife, playing games, working on jigsaw puzzles, word searches, and trying to figure out how to complete a Sudoku puzzle correctly. Those simple moments full of laughter, competition, and warmth will be cherished forever.

We will spend the rest of our lives, trying to live the way you taught us – rooted in love, guided by loyalty, grounded in strong values, and forever devoted to family. Having you in our lives was one of our greatest blessings and honor. Your stories and laughter – will echo through our days, bringing us comfort and joy, even as a tear may slip down our cheek. We will miss you more than words can express. Rest peacefully, and don’t worry – we will wrap Mom with a lot of love and protection that you always gave us.
