Nancy Langhorne McCann
December 18, 1956 – December 5, 2025
Nancy was born at Lynchburg General Hospital and passed away while in residence at Tate Springs Health & Rehabilitation.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank M. McCann, and is survived by her mother, Nancy C. Harlow; her son, Jason Brust; and seven siblings: Susie C. Adams, Michael McCann, James McCann, Edward McCann, Jonathan McCann, Steven McCann and Zita McCann. She also had a bountiful number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Nancy graduated from E.C. Glass High School and was a faithful employee at Achieve of Central Virginia, formerly LSI. She always enjoyed the time she had with her coworkers and staff. Nancy was a member of Cornerstone Community Church and relished the community spirit and fellowship she found there. Nancy had a great memory and could spout off details about things that most of us failed to notice. Nancy also appreciated poetry and would make it a personal mission to read select poems to family members on their birthdays. She loved socializing and visiting Woodruff’s Pie Shop to converse with the staff, especially Mrs. Woodruff. But above all else, Nancy loved animals, especially dogs and cats. She always remembered their names and birthdates.
Interment will be a private ceremony with immediate family. The family plans a celebration of life memorial to occur sometime this coming spring.
The family would like to thank the staff of Tate Springs Health & Rehabilitation and Nayar Hospice for their care of “Fancy Nancy.”
In lieu of any flowers or gifts, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Nancy’s name to:
The Lynchburg Humane Society, 1211 Graves Mill Road, Lynchburg, VA 24502
