Dorothy Jean Potter, age 92, of Mt. Carmel went to be with the Lord on December 9, 2025. She was born on November 26, 1933, in Knox County, TN to Robert and Irena Boruff. She attended Valley View Baptist Church and Indian Ridge Baptist Church. Dorothy enjoyed watching UT sports and NASCAR. She loved spending time with her family. Dorothy will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis R. Potter; grandson, Darin Potter; siblings, Bobby Boruff, Bill Boruff, Jerry Boruff, Betty Hilton, and Alma Ruth Boruff.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Jim (Dana) Potter, Ronnie (Stephanie) Potter, Jerry (Elizabeth) Potter, and Gary (Teresa) Potter; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; former daughter-in-law Wanda Potter; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 11:00 am at Church Hill Memory Gardens with Pastor Ronnie Grimes officiating. Grandsons and great-grandsons will be serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 am.
