Mrs. Frances Rzucek Sherwood, 96, of Greensboro passed away on December 10, 2025 under the care of Blumenthal Nursing & Rehabilitation in Greensboro.  Born in Salamanca, New York, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Victoria (Turton) Rzucek and wife of the late Roland  D. Sherwood, Jr..

Frances loved working in her yard, spending time at the Outer Banks, and sewing in her spare time. 

Frances is survived by her daughter, Linda Long (James); her grandchildren, Carrie F. Long, Jamie Long McCargo, Daniel Sherwood (Beth), Rebecca Spray (Donald), and Abigail Sherwood; her six great-grandchildren; and a special niece as well as other family.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Sherwood; and her siblings.

Per Frances's wishes, there will be no services held at this time. 

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Authoracare and/or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
