COCOA BEACH - Juanita Godke, 92, passed Sunday, the 8th of December. A long resident of Cocoa Beach had survived her husband, Pete Godke, by 46 days. She was born in April 1933 in Greenville, South Carolina. She was from a family with 4 older brothers, and 3 sisters with just her older sister, Doris, surviving. Juanita had been married 71 years, and they moved to Cocoa Beach in 1972. Being married to an Air Force man, retiring in Cocoa Beach they took over the family business named Ann-Lia Gift Shop. Juanita retired on her 65th birthday to spend as much time with her children and grandchildren. She was “mom” to her three daughters, Paula, Sharon, and Sherry. And “Nana” to her four grandchildren, Katie, Tina, Sean, and Jen. She was able to see her grandchildren marry and have five beautiful great-grandchildren, Weston, Cason, Peter, Colleen, and Penelope. Juanita was well known for her endearing love for her family and will be missed by all. Visitation will be held at Beckman-Williams in Cocoa Beach on December 19th at 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
