Anne Elizabeth Smith, 97, of Greensboro passed away on December 11, 2025 at her residence in Liberty. Born in Guilford County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Annie (Horton) HighFill and wife of the late Henry Smith.
Anne was a homemaker that raised six children of her own as well as attending to other children for over 15 years. Some of the children that were especially impactful were Mark, Derrick, Scotty Weaver and Patrick and Eddie Hill. She was a wonderful cook and she passed this on to all of her children and grandchildren so they could make her most special dishes.
Anne is survived by her children, Pamela Smith, Janet Smith Boggs (Billy), Aubrey Smith (Penny), Leslie Atkins (Larry McIntosh), Vic Smith, and Connie Moore (Allen); her grandchildren, Jennifer Smith (Josh), Emma Cook (Josiah), Ashley Lohr (Cale), Holli Fogleman, Victoria "Ticka" Misenheimer (Adam), and Lucas Atkins; her great-grandchildren, Clinton Fogleman, Wyatt Smith, Rosslyn Smith, Nora Fogleman, Annebelle Cook, Brooklyn Cook, Paige Misenheimer, Harper Misenheimer, and Elizabeth Cook.
The family will receive friends at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service - Lambeth Chapel, 300 W. Wendover Ave., Greensboro NC 27408 on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 from 1:00PM- 2:00PM. Funeral services will begin at 2:00PM with Preacher Bud Rowe officiating. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park in Greensboro.
