Priscilla Ann “Prissy” Shaffer 84, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 12, 2025. She was born in Hiltons, Va to the late William and Sarah Napier. Priscilla worked at the Kingsport Press from 1960-1977 and for TN Eastman for 23 years before her retirement in 2000. She loved working in her flowers and spending time with her family and friends. Priscilla was a gifted athlete and competed in the Senior Olympics where she earned several gold medals. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Sandra Odum and Georgia Oliver; brothers, Raymond “Buck”, James, Lonnie “Gene”, and Billy Napier.
Survivors include her daughter, Starlette Hicks; son, Brad Shaffer; granddaughter, Chantilly Hicks; sister, Beulah Napier; brothers, Willis and Danny Napier; devoted caregiver, Lexi Tate; along with a host of friends and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Bro. Ed McLain officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1pm on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Hiltons, VA. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:15pm to go in procession.
The family would like to thank the staff of Johnson City Medical Center, Bloomingdale Fire Department, and the staff of 400 wing at The Wexford House for their loving care.
