Noi Smith passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on December 11, 2025. She was 79 years old. 

Noi was born in Phitsanulok, Thailand on June 15, 1946. She was the daughter of Nokkeow Saosook and Timbon Khongdecha. She was the youngest of 9 children. Known for her kind and selfless nature, she regularly made merit and often dedicated herself to doing good deeds and spreading positivity. 

She met the love of her life, Joseph H. Smith, while he was stationed at the Utapao Air Field in Thailand during the Vietnam War. They married on September 23, 1970 and resided in West Haverstraw and Garnerville, NY for 53 years together. 

Noi “Molly” Smith proudly worked at Helen Hayes Hospital for 40 years. She touched the hearts of many, many people in her lifetime around the world and will be dearly missed. 

Noi was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Smith, and her beloved mother and father in law who adored her, Julia and Belding Smith. She is survived by her daughter Theresa Bruen, son in law Michael Bruen, granddaughters Julia, Evelyn and Megan Bruen, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. 

In keeping with Mrs. Smith’s wishes, there will be no public services at this time and a graveside memorial will be held in the spring of 2026, date to be announced.
