Paul Walter Cunningham passed away December 5 at home. He was born in Henderson, Nebraska, February 10, 1932, to Hervey and Mamie Cunningham. He is survived by sons Mitch (Barbara) residing in Kennewick, Washington, and Kevin (Laura) residing in Springfield, Oregon, and their children Alisha (Mike) Smith from Creswell, Oregon, and Jennifer (Andrew) Lanzarotta in Veneta, Oregon, and Gavin (Kait) Cunningham in Springfield, Oregon, and two great grandchildren.
Paul spent his early years in Thurston, raised a family in Springfield, and lived in West Seattle for work before returning to Springfield. During his life, Paul was an office manager for Young Corporation, a logging supplies company, served in the Naval reserve for 20 years, served as a Scout leader for his sons, and was active in square dancing for 65 years with a goal of dancing till the age of 100.
A celebration of Paul's life will be held January 10, 2026, at 2:00pm. The celebration will be held at the Emerald Square Dance Center, Hall B, 2095 Yolanda Ave, Springfield, Oregon.
