It is with great sadness that we share the news of Betty's passing on December 10th, 2025. Betty was born on August 29th, 1930 to Lloyde and Beverly Kendall (Cox), the 4th of 15 children. Betty attended and graduated from Trinity Lutheran school in Oregon City. Being one of the older siblings, Betty learned young how to help take care of her younger siblings, saying that often times they didn't even know their mom was pregnant until she came home with a new baby brother or sister! She spent a lot of time as a youth at her paternal grandparent's home in Canby, and at her Maternal grandparent's home in Oregon City, again, sharing her gift of caring for family members.
Betty met Larry Faist in 1959, and 6 weeks later they were married! Betty joined Larry's family of already 4 kids, and then in 1960, they had their first son together, and their youngest daughter joined in 1962.
Betty held many jobs during her 95 years, such as a cook, bartender, berry boss, farming, fruit stand owner/operator, a tax office, and a caregiver to many relatives.
Betty was a member of Canby Evangelical Church in Canby and served as a greeter and on the pastor parrish committee.
She was a spousal member along with Larry at the Oregon City Elks for over 60 years.
Betty loved being around her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids, and took much pride in all of them!
Betty is survived by her husband of 66 years, Larry, daughters Vicki Faist and Cindy Kenagy (Dennis), sons Garry Faist (Gloria), David Faist and Tim Faist (Connie); 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandsons, 1 great great grandson, sister Sandy Garvin, and brothers James Kendall, Thomas Kendall, and David Kendall, numerous nieces, nephews, and many other littles that she was "Grandma" to. She was proceeded in death by a son Richard, and siblings, Jean, Bob, Pat, Darlene, Ronald, Richard, Dennis, Chuck, Shirley & Albert.
