Kathleen Atencio of Albuquerque, age 65, passed away unexpectedly on December 2, 2025. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Joan and Joe Atencio, brothers Kieth, Steve, and Patrick Atencio and granddaughter Lucy. She is survived by her children Monica (Vidal) Garza, Brian (Stephanie) Baldwin, and Christina Archunde; and 11 grandchildren.
She was a proud Army veteran, a strong single mother, and a loving grandmother. She loved playing cards with her family (poker, rummy, and especially Skip-bo). She loved baking cookies and pies in the fall and winter with her grandchildren. She was always quick to help whenever she could. She will be greatly missed.
