Joyce (Neece) Maulis was born in Denver, Colorado, on September 19, 1932. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Maulis, and her sons, Gary and Rodney.

Joyce was an alumna of East High School in Denver, graduating in 1950. She later pursued higher education at the University of Denver, where she studied for two years.

On November 22, 1952, Joyce married Walter Maulis. They shared 62 years of marriage and together raised four children: Karl, Gary, Steven, and Rodney. Joyce was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren (Robert Maulis, Kathryn Maleva, Matthew Maulis, Mark Maulis) and a great-grandmother to one great-grandson (Jericho Maleva).

Joyce was known for her generous spirit and her eagerness to lend a helping hand to those in need. She was a dedicated and familiar presence at the VOA and Project Support in Idaho Springs, Colorado.

She passed away peacefully from natural causes on December 15, 2025, in Idaho Springs, Colorado.  A graveside service and burial will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 3:00 p.m.
