Dana Reid, 63, passed away on December 15, 2025, at Kindred Hospital Bay Area in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, Dana was the son of Ruby Jean Reid and Troy Reid, both of whom preceded him in death. He grew up in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, a place that helped shape his easygoing nature and lifelong love of good stories and good company.
Dana spent his career in hospitality, a field that fit him perfectly. He had a natural way with people, a quick sense of humor, and a gift for making others feel welcome. Known for being funny, laid back, and an amazing storyteller, Dana could turn even the simplest moment into a memorable one.
He was a devoted sports fan, proudly cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Tampa Bay Rays. Some of his happiest times were spent at the beach, soaking up the sun, enjoying the breeze, and just being present in the moment—exactly the way he lived his life.
Dana is survived by his brother, Ernie Reid, of Fort Myers, Florida and his extended family, Carrie Husbands of Treasure Island, Florida, Richard Archibald of St Pete Beach, Florida and Chas Maier, of Ocala, Florida..
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Beachcomber.Resort, located at 6200 Gulf Boulevard, St. Pete Beach, FL, 33706
Dana will be remembered for his humor, his stories, and his ability to make people smile without ever trying too hard. He will be deeply missed.
