Cary Grant Parkes, 91, of Oro Valley, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025, at his residence in SaddleBrooke, Oro Valley, Arizona. Cary was born on December 12, 1934, in Los Angeles, California.

 

He served his country and community in the United States Marines Corp and the Seattle Police Department in various roles and assignments including in the Homicide Department, his favorite assignment.

 

He is survived by his three sons William J. (Tanya) Parkes, of Cedar City, UT; Kendall B. (Barbara) Parkes, of Spokane, WA; Barry G. (Shauna) Parkes, of Idaho Falls, ID; two stepsons Gregory A. Parkes, of Marysville, WA; Gary D. Parkes, of Everett, WA; and step daughter, Kimberly G. (Richard) Chamberlain of Palm Springs, CA; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

 

Family and friends are invited to gather for funeral services on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints, Catalina Ward 55W. Arrowsmith Dr. Oro Valley, AZ 85755.  Viewing will begin 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.  Services will begin immediately following the viewing around 4 p.m.  Luncheon will be served following services in the cultural hall.
